He was predeceased by: his son Bennie Lee Tidwell; and his siblings, Gladys Williams, Gloria Welch, Mae Tidwell and Ollie V. Tidwell.
He is survived by: his sister Katherlean Brown of Prescott, AR; his sister-in-law Cora Mae Tidwell of Prescott, AR; his brothers, Ira D. Tidwell of Temple, TX, John Tidwell of Temple, TX and Odell Tidwell (Sallie) of Rockford, IL; and his daughter-in-law Varrietta Pickens Adams of Beaumont. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
