He was predeceased by: his parents, John Young and Mary Young; his wife Mattie Young; his daughter Martha Jane (David Bearden); and his siblings, Wilma Holder, Lois Askins and Tom Young.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Longagin (Jerry), Judy Loosier (Robert) and John O. "Joey" Young (Candie); his grandchildren, Katherine Allwood, Jamie MacNabb, Bobby Reeves, Daphne Earnest, Gabrielle Loven, Michael Bearden, Phoenix Bearden, Jonathon Young, Brandon Young and Tiffany Mayabb; and his sisters, Bobbie Bowerman, Mary Barnard, Reta Caldwell, Thelma Morgan, Patsy Hodges and Marg Moore. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
