He was predeceased by: his wife Sallie Johnston (Keeling); his son John H. Johnston; and his sisters, Mary George, Rena Foster, Jane Klober and Nina Stewart.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Thompson (Bruce); his daughter-in-law Mary Johnston; his granddaughters, Nikki McDonald (Patrick), Kristen Meador (Zach) and Laura Murtha (Zac); his brother-in-law Eugene "Boog" Keeling (Ann); and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Cameron, Natalie, Wyatt, Jayden, Owen, Marley, Hallie and Hannah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle with Military Honors, the Little Rock Fire Department Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
