As we bid Peggy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Peggy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence W. Shirkey and Myrtle Shirkey (Teller); her spouse Merlin Charles Elder; her daughter Donna Van Blaricom; and her brothers, Wilbur Shirkey and Darrol Dean Shirkey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Diane Bever (Ron) and Lori Moriarty (Jim). She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home (408 N Broadway St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641).
