He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Beauclaire Motes and Fannie Belle Osborne Motes; his sons, Tommy Lee Motes, Jr. and Michael Scott Motes; his great grandchild Jesse Lee Goodman; his siblings, Elizabeth Motes Altschul and Sam D. Motes; and his nephew John Thomas Motes.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Ashton Motes Goodman; his great grandchild Sawyer Layne Goodman; and his nieces and nephews, Sam Altschul, Dodd Motes, Dick Motes, Cinda Motes and Libba Motes Palazola.
