He was predeceased by: his former wife Frances Greer Van Ness; his sisters, Lois Van Ness, Doris Van Ness, Florene Hanks, Charlene Hornsby and Winnie Nelson; and his son-in-law Andy Gallion.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Poplin Van Ness of Rison, AR; his children, Charles Van Ness, III of Little Rock, AR, Bo Hudson of Rison, AR, Susan Gallion of McGehee, AR and Diane Morgan of Benton, AR; and his siblings, Jim Van Ness of Shreveport, LA, Lorene Ramick of Bentonville, AR and Patricia Ann Spann of Little Rock, AR. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
