He was predeceased by: his parents, Joesph Carl "J. C." and Retha Louise Mckinney Mercer; his daughter Latisha; and his siblings, Allen Mercer, Bobby Mercer and Opal Noble.
He is survived by: his siblings, Katherine Garison (John), Linda Russell (Porter) of Warren, AR, Kenneth Mercer (Susan) of Rison, AR and James Mercer (Diane) of Wilmar, AR; his friend Keith Taylor of Warren, AR; and also Billy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
