He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Ballard Schales; his children, Bill Easton (Mindy) of Washington, Connie Baker (James) of Bay, Tina Greer (Joey) of Horseshoe Bend, Michael Schales of Bay, Scotty Schales (Tina) of Batesville, Pennie Cotty (Leonard) of Trumann and Heather Johnson (Ben) of Hoxie; and his sisters, Judy Brimer, Patsy Tims of Jonesboro and Debbie Barnes of Oklahoma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
