He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Spann (Lynn) and Jerry Ras Spann; and his daughter Mary D. Spann. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Spann of Benton, Illinois.; his children, Romona Jackson (Jeff), Jeannette Minyard (Kevin) and Jerry Spann, Jr. (Jennifer); his sister Margaret Smith (Preston); and his grandchildren, Rebecca Foster (Brian), Jeffrey Jackson Jr. (Jessica), Chris Minyard (Erica), Johnny Spann (Magan), Riley Spann and Rosalyn Minyard. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
