He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Andrew and Iris Christine Wofford Burns. He is survived by: his wife Mollie Delores Anderson Burns of Redfield; his children, David Andrew Burns, Jr. of Redfield and Cynthia Ann Sims (Jacob) of Redfield; his sister Diana Lynn Winfree of Redfield; and his grandchildren, Ethan Dominic Swift of Redfield and Scarlett Ann Sims of Redfield.
