He was predeceased by: his father Ricky Joe Powell; his grandparents, Ralph, Lavone Powell, Floyd and Stella Benson; and his brother Billy Powell.
He is survived by: his mother Carolyn Benson (David Cullum); his wife Doris Valine Powell; his children, Cody Powell, James Powell, Owen Powell and Jada Powell; his sister Kimberley Powell; and his stepsister Tracy Rutherford.
