He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe D. Gilbert and Essie Lucille Clark Gilbert; his wife Margie Ann Johnson Gilbert; his daughters, Brenda Cotton and Gwendolyn Gilbert; and his sister Louise Brown.
He is survived by: his siblings, Glen Gilbert of Monticello, Shirley Gilbert of Jefferson, Jo Rita Franks of Meridian, Idaho, Doris Callison of Oakley, CA and Joyce Elliot of Gardenville, NV; his grandsons, Brandyn (Micah) and DJ; his nieces, Julie Bryant and Evelyn Crutchfield; and his caregiver John Cordell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
