He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vafakos and Hazel Vafakos (Crawley); and his brothers, Paul Vafakos and Philinopolis Vafakos. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Virginia Woods Vafakos; his children, Patrick "Nicco" Vafakos of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Katrina "Thea" Vafakos of Palatine and Varoniquica "Gely" Clay of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn Berry, Lamon Berry, Baeley Berry, Markus Vafakos, Kailo Clay, DJ Clay and Ariah Clay.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home (115 N Neal St, Prairie Grove, AR 72753). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bug Scuffle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bug Scuffle Cemetery.
