He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Mitchell and Viola Mitchell of Poyen, Arkansas.; his wife Virginia Mitchell; and his brother Donald Mitchell. He is survived by: his close friend Thelma Durham; his children, Debbie Turner (CJ) and David Mitchell (Julie Rasmuson); and his grandchildren, Holly O'Neill, Jesse Mitchell, Sara Hamilton and Eddie Clenney. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
