With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Whitmire of Portia, Arkansas, born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, who passed away on April 30, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Whitmire and Lunia Mosier Whitmire; his daughter Dorothy Whitmire Burton (Dottie); his son-in-law Gary Burton; his grandson Troy Burton; and his siblings, Mildred Dawson, Marie Ervin, Kathy Land, Anna Dobbs, Clara Lafern, Buddy Whitmire and Jasper.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sue Gawf Whitmire; his sons, Rev. David Whitmire (Martha) and Danny Whitmire (Shelly); and his grandchildren, Kris Whitmire (Aundrea), Pam Whitmire, Sara Burton, Travis Burton (Samantha), Jacob Whitmire, Caleb Whitmire (Mikayla), Rachel Jackson (Aaron), Joshua Anglin and Noah Blake Anglin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
