He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil "Dick" Cornish and Edith Gipson Cornish; and his siblings, Peggy Lloyd, J. C. "Buddy" Cornish, Patsy Schmidt and Irene Woodward.
He is survived by: his sons, John Cornish of Bay, Philip Cornish of Bay, Mark Cornish of Jonesboro and Stephen Cornish (Krystal) of Jonesboro; and his close friends, Russell Moore of Jonesboro, Gary Randel of Jonesboro and Gary Gibbs of Jonesboro. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
