It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth D Duncan of Pocahontas, Arkansas, who passed away on January 27, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hudson and Vera Dickson Hudson; her husband Bill Duncan; her siblings, Margaret Huffman, Jimmy Hudson and Edward Hudson; her grandchildren, Andrea Garrett and Michael Garrett; and her son-in-law Jim Garrett.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Childress (Jerry) of Pocahontas, Melinda Briggs (Tommie) of South Fulton, TN, Käty Duncan of Pocahontas, Billie Duncan of Pocahontas and Blake Duncan (Krystal) of Pocahontas; her grandchildren, Natasha Briggs, Jason Briggs (Pamela) of South Fulton, TN, Taylor Duncan of Utah, Kearson Collins (Trevor) of Harrison, AR, Kristian, Raden and River Duncan of Pocahontas; her great grandchildren, Jada Briggs, Garrett Karr, Bayley Sisco, Adisson, Ashlynn Garrett and Emma Collins; her sister Mable Simmons of Jacksonville, IL; and her sister-in-law Brenda McCandless of Pocahontas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
