She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Ballenger and Gaye Ballenger; her husband John Harlan Hurd; her daughter Judith Carole Carpenter; and her brother Jimmy Lee Ballenger.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Alan Hurd of Bono and William Joseph Hurd of Flowery Branch, GA; her sister Joan Gaye Cannon of Poplar Bluff, MO; and her grandchildren, John Johnson of Jonesboro, Stephen Johnson of Bono, Sunshine Johnson of Rossville, TN, Daniel Hurd of Plymouth, NH, Sara Rye of Flowery Branch, Joshua Hurd of Bono and Jonathan Hurd of Bono.
