Johny Mack Toler Obituary

Johnny Mack Toler, 74, of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away on July 9, 2022 due to a rare form of metastatic skin cancer. He was born on April 23, 1948 in Pollard, Arkansas to Charley and Ethel Wall Toler. The Toler family moved to Texas shortly after Johnny's birth and returned to Arkansas when he was 8. He grew up in the Fender community near Pocahontas. He began working as a farm hand at age 12 with his father and brothers. He continued farm work for the next 34 years. He also worked at Pro Group, the old drive-in theater, and fried donuts at Harvest Foods. He always returned to the job he loved, farm work.

Johnny loved the outdoors. His favorite past time was driving the old gravel roads. He also enjoyed going to car shows and won numerous trophies with his little black S-10. He also spent many hours with Chris working on all types of projects involving anything motorized.

Johnny is survived by; loving wife of 37 years: Rebecca Bennett Toler of the home; two sons: Christopher Toler of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Douglas Toler of Chandler, Texas; one stepdaughter: Miranda Ellington of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Douglas, Jr., Veronica, Tina all of Chandler, Texas; one great grandchild: Roslyn of Chandler, Texas; one sister: Juanita Smart (Norman) of Pocahontas, Arkansas; two sister in laws: Delma Toler of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Alice Toler of Jonesboro, Arkansas; niece and son: Norma Adams (James) and son Dalton of Pocahontas, Arkansas; niece and son: Rhonda Duckworth (Jeff) and son Shane of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.

Johnny is preceded in death by; his parents: Charley and Ethel Wall Toler; his brothers: Harold, Charles, Benny Clifford; and one sister: Patsy.

Johnny chose cremation as his final disposition. He chose to "Keep it simple.". In his words. He wants family and friends to remember him with happy memories.

The family will have a private service at a later date when his ashes will be scattered over his favorite place to spend time, outdoors.
