Fred Handwork Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fred Handwork of Pocahontas, Arkansas, who passed away on February 24, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Fred farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Fred is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Joy and Lethel Orrus Handwork (Ermert); and his brother Norman Handwork. He is survived by: his children, Cinna Hatcher of Jonesboro, Donna Foster (Kevin) of Pocahontas, David Handwork (Jada) of Jonesboro and Julie Miller of Brookland; and his sister Alice Karow (Charles) of Corning. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ermert Funeral Home, Inc. (1000 W Elm St, Corning, AR 72422). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the Williams Cemetery (401 NW 3rd St, Corning, AR 72422).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in honor of Fred to Fisher House (http://www.fisherhouse.org) and St. Labre Indian School (http://www.stlabre.org).
