We are sad to announce that on August 5, 2020, at the age of 90, Dorothy Rapert (Pocahontas, Arkansas), born in Benton, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Margaret Moree Cate Reed and Lucian Raymond Reed; her children, Daniel Rapert (Nancy) of Pleasanton and Deborah Yen (Rupert) of Memphis, Tennessee; her granddaughters, Morgan Pattison (Brendan) of Memphis and Madison Yen-Collins (Rich) of Denver, CO; and her great grandchildren, Ellie Rose Pattison and Jude Wylder Pattison.

Due to the COVID pandemic, memorial services for Dorothy will be lived-streamed from First Baptist Church, in Pocahontas, on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Imperial Dinner Theater, the St. Bernard's Five Rivers Hospital Auxiliary or First Baptist Church of Pocahontas.

“My mother, Margaret Cate Simmons Hughes was a 1st cousin to Dorothy Lou. Mom's father, Virgil Cate was Moree Cate's brother. My Mom may have been named after Dorothy Lou's mother. Mom and Dorothy Lou were great friends growing up. In the early 1950's Dorothy Lou and Mom traveled on the train together from Benton, AR to New York City to visit their cousin/sister that worked in New York and lived in Staten Island. Mom passed away on 7/8/2019. I'm sure they are discussing the trip now.”
