He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Pierce and Nellie Willis Pierce; his son Lanny Pierce; and his sisters, Lucille Braschler and Anna Mae Carrens.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Raye Pond Pierce; his children, Sherry Schonborg (David) of Fort Walton Beach, FL and James L. Pierce of Machesney Park, IL; his daughter-in-law Barbara Grimsby of Pocahontas; his grandchildren, Matthew Pierce of Machesney Park, IL, Nicole Robinson (Timothy) of Lyle, TX, Troy Pierce (Kimberlee) of Austin, TX, Travis Pierce of Boulder, CO and Tasha Grass of Machesney Park, IL; his great grandchildren, Carter Pierce of Machesney Park, IL, Alyssa Pierce of Orlando, FL, Alexa Dunn of West Virginia, Katie Robinson of Lyle, TX, Ana Robinson of Lyle, TX, Seth Grass of Machesney Park, IL and Lena Grass of Machesney Park, IL; and his great great grandchild Elijah Dunn of West Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
