He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin Chance Sr. and Youtha Adcock Chance; his children, John Chance III and Cindy Chance; and his sister Dorothy "Dottie" Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Chance (Nancy) of Humboldt Hill, California, Sandra Chance of Arcata and Theresa Chamberlain of White City, Oregon; and his siblings, Robert Austin of Orlando, Fran Reece (Bud) of Mt. George and Christine Gulley (Tim) of Samoa. He is also survived by many grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
