He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Gray and Dora Gray; his siblings, Janet Smith, Leon and Melvin Gray; his nephews, Ronald and Joseph Clay; and his mother-in-law Margaret J. Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Jean Gray; his children, Darryl Knox (DeShawn) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lawrence Gray (Adonsha) and Tawanda Harrington (William) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his sister Jerrye Cox of South Haven, Michigan; his niece Linda Garvin (Leon); his nephew Benny D. Cox III; his grandsons, Tyrone, DeJuan, De'Rai, Heru, LaDainian, Jordan and London; his great grandchildren, Jayden and Talani; and his pet Gwen.
