He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Sanders and Ruby Rodgers Sanders; his son Steven Sanders; his former wife Katherine Sanders Cook; and his siblings, Peggy Bryant, Margaret Selvey, Betty Sue Thomas and Roger Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Charles "Quail" Sanders, Jr. (Sandy), Cheryl Givens (Chuck) and Judy Sanders; and his siblings, Reecy Wetmore, Ida Daniels and Larry Joe Sanders (Kim). He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
