He was predeceased by: his parents, Autie Lee Jones and Alpha Elizabeth Green Jones; and his siblings, Carl Ray Jones (Loretta), Helen Faulk and Dorothy Charton.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Bingham Jones; his sons, Steven Jones (Susan), Vernon Jones (Nancy) and Greg Jones (Lorrie); and his siblings, Jerry Jones (Janice), Lawson Jones, Melba Beavers (Burman) and Joyce Rankin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
