With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mellie Louise Hood of Paris, Arkansas, born in Gideon, Missouri, who passed away on July 24, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Harmon Malding and Elsie Marie Malding (Harper); her husband James Stephen Hood; her daughter Pamela James; her daughter-in-law Teresa Hood; her great grandchild Presley Rose Hood; and her siblings, Patsy Ann Mink and Larry Wesley Malding.
She is survived by: her sons, James Hood (Jan) of Paris, Robert Hood (Lori) of Dinuba and John Hood (Lisa) of Ozark; her siblings, Opal Carr (Paul) of Charleston, Terrie Wright of Charleston, Leon Malding (Jan) of Clovis, Kenneth Malding (Cynthia) of Madera and Dennis Malding (Maria) of Dyer; and her stepdaughter Misty Kelm of Siloam Springs. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
