He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Ward and Pearl Ward; his wife Marie Ward; and his daughter Susann Rusaw. He is survived by: his daughter Glenda McPherson (Lillian Ward) of Paragould; his son-in-law Ralph McPherson; his sister Jean Lawhorn of Turlock, CA; and his close friend Barbara Adams. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren.
