He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Smith and Freda Smith; his brother Don Smith; his sister-in-law Ratha Smith; and his grandson Joey Galczynski.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith; his children, Tom Galczynski (Lisa), Scott Galczynski (Mindy), Destie West (Kevin), Gena Ellis (Ollie Wood) and Lena Lowe; and his grandchildren, Tabby Qualls (J. J.), Jake Galczynski, Brandon Galczynski (DesaRae), Nick Galczynski, Kristen Galczynski, Whitney Dixon, Katherine Jo Galczynski, Kevin Lee West (Nikki), Kurtis West (Kristy), Alex West (Alison), Cody Ellis (Sam), Mariah Summers (Garry Brickey) and Garrett Summers (Brianna Green). He is also survived by twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
