He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo "Lonzo" Phillips and Lovie Phillips; his daughter Ellen Janette Tweedy; his grandson Dakota Allen Tweedy; and his sisters, Maxine Meagher, Dorothy Cupp and Betty Ruiz.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cooper Phillips of Paragould; his children, Stephanie Hefley (James) of Cherokee Village and Gerald Allen Phillips (Karen) of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, George Tweedy, Jr., Jennifer Tweedy, Maria Tweedy and Andrew Hefley; and his sister Paulette DeRouen of Stockton, California. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
