With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrtle Duty (Paragould, Arkansas), born in Yellville, Arkansas, who passed away on January 5, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forrest Huddleston and Bessie Carolyn Huddleston of Rector; her husband Sherman Devearl Duty; her son Wayne Devearl Duty of Paragould; her granddaughter Christy Gardella of Macomb; and her siblings, Virgil Huddleston of Swartz Creek, Jewell Huddleston of Leachville, A. D. Huddleston of Belding, Michigan, Ima Jean Huddleston of Rector and Mildred Huddleston Holtsclaw of Pullman, Michigan..
She is survived by: her children, Roger, Sharon Duty of Macomb, Russell, Nancy Duty of Oceanside, Bill and Mary Duty Kircher of Holland, Michigan; her grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer Gardella of Warren, Darla Laarman Hamel of Walpole, Michael, Christine Laarman of Bitely and Heather McNichols; her children, Mara, Brendan of Virginia, Matthew, Elisabeth Duty Morrell of California and Amber Duty of Oceanside; and her great grandchildren, Alyssa, Devra Hamel, Melissa Valdes, Michael Waganfeald, Alicia, Coco Martinez, Juniper Morrell, Devin, Kelsey Gardella, Peyton Gardella, Gray Gardella, Caden Gardella and Kylie Gardella. She is also survived by many great-great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heath Funeral Home (321 W Garland St, Paragould, AR 72450). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Myrtle with memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization dear to Myrtle's heart.
