He was predeceased by: his parents, Ard Troy Shewmaker and Cynthia Elizabeth Gramling; his wife Reba Faye Shewmaker; his siblings, Ancil Shewmaker, Mary Emma Fitzgerald, Vivian Groves and Gloria Shewmaker; his daughter Cyndi Rhodes; and his grandson Jacob.
He is survived by: his son Jim; his daughter-in-law Doris Shewmaker; his daughters, Ann (Tom Turnbull), Jane Neu and Mary (Erick Bachman); his siblings, Kenneth Shewmaker, David Shewmaker and Eunice Higgins; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Aaron, Marisa, Daniel, Laura, Avery, Adrienne, Rachel, Cassidy and Dustin. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
