He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Holder and Betty Holder; his brother Richard "Rick" Holder; and his father-in-law Joe Statler. He is survived by: his wife Jodie; his daughter Valerie Smithee (Wesley); his aunt Mary Hibbard; his mother-in-law Carmeleta Statler; his sister-in-law Rhonda Clayton; his pets, Abby and Sadie; and his nieces and nephews, John Holder (Misty), Alan Holder, Devin Holder, Kerrie Martin (Jeramy), Lillah, Camden Martin, Aaron Clayton, Lane, Luke, Levi and Krissy Clayton.
