It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Ann McClendon of Palestine, Arkansas, born in Louisville, Mississippi, who passed away on September 9, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Webster Gwathney and Agnes Rebecca Cherry Gwathney; her spouse Charlie Rube McClendon; her daughter Robbie Jean McClendon; her granddaughter Kayla Rae McClendon; and also Brenda Holmes McClendon.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Daniel McClendon (Carolyn) of Palestine, Charlie Rube McClendon Jr. of Palestine, Tammy Jean Newton Adams of Prairie Grove and Valerie Ann Parker (Kenny) of Palestine; her brothers, Donnie Gwathney of Beebe, Dale Gwathney of Heber Springs and Roger Gwathney of Palestine; and her grandchildren, Kimberly, Marty, Jennifer, Jared, Robert, Holly, Fallon, Christy, Garrett, Ryder and Makayla. She is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren.
