She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James 'Short Hooker and Venus Lee Hooker; her husband Charles Leon Shafer; her children, Peggy Heath (Jimmy) of Searcy, Charles Shafer Jr. of Palestine, Stacy Shafer (Mary) of Rector and Jim Shafer (Alicia) of Velvet Ridge; and her siblings, Dale Hooker of Meeker, Stanley Hooker, Jay Hooker of Memphis, Wanda Crews of Niangua and Rosie Howton of Stamps. She was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren, and a host of other great-grandchildren.
