He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Armstrong and Juanita Crouch Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Judith Waldron Armstrong; his children, Richard Armstrong (Julie Eveld Armstrong) of Ozark, Arkansas and Kimberly Zwiesler (Daniel Zwiesler) of Spokane, Washington; his granddaughters, Shelby Armstrong Melton (Caleb Melton) of Rogers, Isabella Grace Zwiesler (Nathan Ivanoff) of Spokane, Abigail Jaree Zwiesler of La Mirada and Olivia Kate Zwiesler of Spokane, Washington; his great grandchildren, Wes, Gunner and Jeb Melton of Rogers, Arkansas; and his siblings, Gregory H. Armstrong (Donna Armstrong) of Ozark and Dathyl McKenzie of Ozark. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, sisters-in-law and spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.
