Marcella Gean Mitchell Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Foster and Clara McCartney Foster; her former husband Ray Gaines Sr.; her husband Ira Mitchell; and her siblings, Lillian Parker, Rhoda Kelly, Betty Hardgrave, Alta Johnston, Joyce Crooks, Guy Foster and Tommy Foster.
She is survived by: her sons, Ray Gaines Jr. (Linda) of Lavaca and Marshall Gaines (Janet) of Ozark; her stepdaughters, Carolyn Dover of Dover, Marylou Douglas of Mountain Home and Paulette Gage of Duncanville, Texas; her grandchildren, Rachel Ball of Van Buren, Krista Brown, Lindsey Trantham of Alma, Logan Gaines of Lavaca, Marsha Kelly of Black Hawk, Andy, Ben Schaffer of Ozark and Adam Gaines of Merxheim, Germany; and her sister-in-law Mary Foster. She is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shaffer Funeral Home (2315 W Commercial St, Ozark, AR 72949). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at the Jackson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Jackson Cemetery Fund or Grenades's Chapel First United Methodist Church c/o Lucy Sowell 12627 N. Highway 23 Ozark, Arkansas 72949.
