He was predeceased by: his father James Albert Hurst; and his siblings, William C. Hurst and Joyce Ann Hurst. He is survived by: his mother Pearl Gray Hurst; his wife Kasandra "Sandy" Brewer Hurst; his children, Patrick W. Hurst (Rachel), Edward J. Hurst (Nancy), Kristofer G. Hurst (Nancy Jo), Krystal L. Payne (Steven) and Rosie Woodward Melson; and his siblings, Jerry Hurst, Albert Hurst, Linda Contreras and Liz Thomsen (Danny). He is also survived by his ten grandchildren.
