He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jim Pickartz Cloos; his son David Cloos; and his brothers, Roy Vernon, Odell, Paul "Bud", Hoyt and Montie Cloos.

He is survived by: his daughter Diann Cloos of San Francisco. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
