He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William and Ruby Ray; his son Donald Ray; and his siblings, James Ray, Thomas Ray, Viola Williams, Berthie Griggs, Kathrine Griggs, Alline Davis and Dolline Fain.

He is survived by: his wife Teresa Ray; his sons, Robert Ray (Laura) and Ricky Ray (Melissa); his grandchildren, Tabitha Humphrey (Steve), Cody Ray and Jamie Green (Ashley); and his great grandchildren, Alissa, Rosalynn and Raylyn.
