He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Delano and Yvone Gracie Halpain; his wife Juanita Halpain; his sons, Charles Halpain and Franklin David Halpain; his grandchildren, Charles Halpain Jr., David Halpain and Crystal Halpain; and his siblings, Albert Halpain, Charles Halpain, Rosa Tumlin and Mary Sharp.

He is survived by: his daughter Janey Wilbanks; his son-in-law Christopher Mattox; his grandchildren, Michael Halpain (Amy Wells), Christopher Halpain (Alexis), Jessica Wright (Jimmy) and Joanie Greene; and his sister Gladys Vasquez. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
