He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Richmond and Selener Arnald Brown; his son Detrex Pointer; and his siblings, Leslie Richmond, T. J. Richmond, James Richmond, Larry Richmond, Melvin Richmond, Dorothy Richmond, Juanita Richmond, June Taylor and Eveline Flie.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Pointer of Osceola; his children, Demetrius Pointer (Shalonda) of Osceola, Stefanie Bradley of Osceola, Andrea Doss (Brian) of Osceola and Lavita Hill (Bobby Joe, Jr.) of Osceola; and his siblings, Willis Richmond, Bobby Richmond (Regina), John Richmond (Minnie) of Benton Harbor, MI, Betty Richmond and Artie Bell Jones of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
