He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Gilbert and Cecil Gilbert; and his brothers, Jimmy Gilbert, Larry Gilbert and Clyde Stewart.
He is survived by: his siblings, Marilyn Crabtrey-Morrilton (Ernest), Carolyn Crabtrey (Benny) and Roy Gilbert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
