Mary Alberta Bringetto Obituary

ALBERTA BRINGETTO, 91, passed away just before midnight on February 10, 2022, in her home in Omaha, Arkansas, with her dog Buddy by her side. Alberta celebrated 59 wedding anniversaries with the love of her life, Victor, before his passing in 2016.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Vic and Jan Bringetto, son Michael Bringetto, daughter and son-in-law Barbara Bringetto and Bill Pendleton, Victor's brother Leo Bringetto, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents Baxter L. Fulks and Ethel S.Ludlow. Fulks, and her sisters, Georgia Jorn and Loretta Winn.

Alberta was born during the Depression, in Visalia, California, and grew up in a hard-working family. She attendedRoosevelt High School, and with a broken leg, graduated with her class in 1948. Alberta worked for the phone company until she had children. She balanced raising her children while working with her husband Vic in their auto parts and repair business in Rolinda keeping the books and billings in order. Vic always joked about how he had saved money on accounting by marrying his bookkeeper. Alberta would always respond with how she had wanted Vic to propose to her, but hadn't yet. Then she was sent by the phone company to work in Oakland for two weeks. As soon as Vic set eyes on Alberta when she came home, he proposed! She laughed and said she should have gone away sooner! Alberta was Vic's co-pilot on late night tow service calls for AAA for more than 60 years. When she wasn't working with their business, you could usually find her working in the yard, running errands, and of course, getting her hair done once a week.

Vic and Alberta loved dancing and were members of several clubs. Vic's favorite song was Streets of Bakersfield, and they would zoom across the dance floor. They were destined to dance together for the rest of their lives. You could see the sparkle and love in their eyes whenever they looked at each other. Alberta always talked about missing her honey, and how she knew one day they would be back together. We would laugh at the story that Vic kept repeating, where he had said he always remembered how beautiful Alberta was in her little red high-heeled shoes walking outside the phone company in Fresno. In 2021, Alberta moved to Arkansas with her daughter and son-in-law. Ironically, her home in Arkansas is within driving distance of where her father had been born.

A visitation for Alberta will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
