He was predeceased by: his wives, Ann Ragland and Poneta "Ruth" Ragland; his girlfriend Brenda Reid; and his siblings, Walter Junior, Sid Ragland and Johnnie Earnhart.
He is survived by: his son Chris; his daughter-in-law Marceia Ragland; his daughters, Allane (Jim Gass) and Nicole Risley (Ronnie Long); and his grandchildren, Carol Jo "Scooter" (Paul Talley), Kristy (Mike Pounders), Jennifer (Allen Barrett), Jessica (Aaron Gutting) and Lyric Long.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt Judea, Valley Springs, or an athletic department of choice in his honor.
