He is survived by: his wife Virgie Hammons of Omaha; his sons, David Carroll Jr. (Jonel) and John Alan (Denise Hammons); his grandchildren, Sarah White-Hamilton (Andrew) of Baldwin City, Elizabeth Campbell (Adam) of Trimble and Nathan Hammons of Dothan; his great grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, Seth, Asher, Thomas, David, Daniel and Audrey; and his brothers, John Paul Hammons Jr. of Austin, Roger Hammons (Katherine) of Lake Jackson and Dough Hammons (Debbie) of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
