He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ray and Mamie Louise Thornton (Sumler). He is survived by: his wife Mary Katherine Thornton; his son Michael Wayne Thornton of Little Rock; and his sisters, Ann Lucas (Curtis) of Cabot and Brenda Bumpas (Jim) of Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
