He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Cary Heard Sr. and Mary Frances Ridenhour Heard. He is survived by: his nephew Mark Drinkwater; his wife Mary Lou Bryan Heard; his children, Sam Heard (Brooke Buckley), Sarah Renshaw (Bo) and Dan Heard (Marty); his grandchildren, Jasper Heard, James Renshaw, Noah Heard, Haden Buckley (Kylea), Griffin Buckley, Callie Renshaw, Zoe Heard (Ethan Hurley), Grace Heard, Edie Heard, Leigha Heard, Abby Renshaw, Sophie Buckley and Layla Heard; his great grandchild Hank Buckley; his sister Tish Drinkwater (Mike); and his nephew Michael Drinkwater (Camie).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Park Hill Baptist Church (201 E C Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
