He was predeceased by: his parents, James David Upton and Mary Elizabeth McGuire Upton; his grandson Jessie Bush; his great grandchild Madison Bush; and his siblings, Jay Upton, Bill McGuire, Jimmy Upton, Dell Cates and Carolyn Upton.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Upton of Norman; his children, Arthur David Upton (Margie Upton) of Oklahoma, Richard (Mary Upton), Teddy (Lisa Smith), Debbie Upton of California and Terra; his son-in-law James Bush of Caddo Gap; his sister-in-law Donna Upton of California; his sister Mary; his brother-in-law Charles Masterson of Board Camp; and his pets, Patches, Jake and Missy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
