She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Simons and Betsy Simons (Mankey); her husband V. L. Summers; her children, Virgil Summers, Charles Summers, Stephen Summers and Patty Sherman; her grandson Buddy Summers; and her siblings, Billy Joe Simons, Vestal Simons, Betty Sue Fox, Joyce Dunn and Geneva Simons.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Summers (Kay) of Newport, Terry Summers (Dora) of Tuckerman, Larry Summers (Pat) of New York, Debra Harris of Diaz and Annie Holt of Newport; and her brother Ray Simons of Diaz. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and 50 great grandchildren.
